…Intern America announces its official launch.
Intern America is designed to “put America back to work” by connecting the right employers with the right individuals to help foster innovation and lower the unemployment rate.
DENVER, COLO (November 29, 2011)— Governor John Hickenlooper recently announced the creation of the Colorado Innovation Network (COIN). “The Colorado Innovation Network is a roadmap for making Colorado the best state for innovation and where every road must lead to new jobs,” said Hickenlooper. The Colorado Innovation Network is intended to lower the unemployment rate, create jobs, foster innovation, bring new business to Colorado and stimulate economic growth through partnerships and networking. Intern America wants the same thing.
Intern America believes that the current system for filling available positions is not working the way it should and was launched in November of this year to provide support where there isn’t enough. In June, 2011 the U.S. Department of Labor reported the number of people who make up the U.S. Workforce at 153.4 million – the number of those people unemployed at that time was 14.1 million. Most experts have said this is a very conservative number as not everybody can be accounted for. Plus, the country must plan for the next generation that will enter the U.S. workforce in the next 10 years, (estimated to total more than 70 million people). Wikipedia is also reporting the current average number of college graduates per year is 1.75 million. These young people now, and in the next decade, will not have enough opportunities available to them unless the system is changed.
Intern America’s focus is to help rebuild the country by connecting employers with the right individuals. Intern America works directly with individuals and employers in the U.S., bridging the gap between those seeking employment and those with employment opportunities by offering 3, 6, and 12 month internship positions.
“Many of the most successful businesses today started in economically challenging times – IBM, Proctor and Gamble, FedEx, United Airlines. A need in the market was very apparent then and the solution was the result of a few people who were willing to take a risk. We see a VERY apparent need now and we are willing to do whatever it takes to be a part of creating the solution” says Julia Gentry, one of the three founders of Intern America.
Intern America is focusing on placements in the following industries: engineering, IT, oil and gas, hospitality, and sales and marketing because they believe these are the industry’s most heavily outsourced, staffing cuts due to budget limitations, or hold the most potential for innovation. Now, with Intern America’s efforts to match the right individuals with the right employers, they create new opportunities, fill jobs, foster innovation, and stimulate the economy while also providing individuals with the opportunity to get their foot in their door, gain experience, get back to work, and do what they love.
Governor Hickenlooper’s Colorado Innovation Network is offering solutions to current and future economic issues by investing in innovation and partnerships to help secure America’s economic future, and with the launch of Intern America, their founders are confident they too will do the same.
About Intern America:
Intern America is not a staffing company, and they are not a traditional placement service. Intern America is a partnership for interns and employers. Their goal is to help the right people identify their individual purpose, passions, and path. They can then connect them with the right employer offering the right opportunity. This is not just about “making a placement” but rather opening a door for future success.
Intern America offers continuous support to both interns and employers throughout the entire placement and internship process. They recognize this is a big decision for both and want to ensure that everyone is set up for success. Intern America believes that in order to re-establish the country’s economy, there is a bridge to build – one that connects the current generation with the next generation. Intern America wants to build America’s future by connecting the next generation of leaders with today’s employers. For more information about Intern America please visit www.InternAmericaNOW.com
