FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Local companies partner together for an innovative campaign with the goal of putting Colorado back to work.
Intern America has a launched 13 – week long competition, giving 5 individuals a chance to intern for Hot 107.1, Denver’s leading radio station.
Denver, CO. (March 13, 2012)– Though Colorado is expected to be in the top 10 states in the nation for job growth in 2012, over 200,000 residents still remain unemployed and that does not include those graduating from college this May. Intern America, HOT 107.1, and seven participating sponsors recognize the need for economic growth and have decided to take matters into their own hands and put their community back to work with one of the newest, most innovative approaches Denver has seen to date – a 13 week long competition where listeners will have an opportunity to submit video applications for a chance to compete as one of the TOP 5 interns for HOT 107.1’s. Many will enter, 5 will compete as interns, and only 1 will be chosen as Colorado’s next intern with a shot for employment at HOT 107.1, Denver’s leading radio station.
“This competition isn’t only about the five interns that get to compete but really about putting Colorado back to work and not just in “jobs” but in real positions where people will feel fulfilled about what they do,” said Intern America owner Julia Gentry. “We hope this competition will create a movement within Colorado, where individuals and employers alike, realize the importance of job placement and recognize one of the best options available to them is internships!”
The TOP 5 applicants will be chosen using Intern America’s in-house matching system. Those 5 will then compete in a series of job related tasks to test their skills and professional abilities. HOT 107.1, along with the listeners, will determine who did the best at each weekly competition and at the end of the 13 weeks, one intern will be named “Colorado’s HOT Intern” at a city wide event planned and implemented by the interns themselves. The winner will not only gain the title of “Colorado’s HOT Intern” and win a handful of prizes, but they will have a chance to become a permanent member of the HOT 107.1 team.
Intern America, HOT 107.1 and seven other participating businesses are excited to give an individual the opportunity they have been waiting for. Listeners can go online to: http://www.internamericanow.com and click the “HOT 107.1” tab to learn how they can apply for a chance to prove themselves and become “Colorado’s HOT Intern”.
